Passport expiry reminder
Get reminded before your passport expires
Add your passport once and DocsPocket will remind you by email — and text, if you like — a year and six months before it expires. No more discovering an expired passport the week before a trip.
Encrypted on your device. No document scanning. No AI. No OCR.
How the passport renewal reminder works
- Create a free account and set your private vault passphrase.
- Add your passport: type the name, country and expiry date, and optionally attach a photo.
- We remind you 12 months and 6 months before expiry, with the days left and a link to your vault.
Why 12 and 6 months?
Many countries require your passport to be valid for 3–6 months beyond your travel dates, and passport offices can be slow at busy times. A reminder a year ahead gives you room to renew calmly; the 6-month reminder is your last comfortable window.
Not just passports
The same reminders work for ID cards, driving licences, residence permits, visas and insurance documents — everything with an expiry date in one place.
Frequently asked questions
When will I be reminded?
DocsPocket sends reminders when a document is within 12 months of expiry and again within 6 months, so you have time to renew before booking travel.
Can I get a text message as well as an email?
Yes. You can switch on text reminders and add one extra email address and one extra mobile number, for example a partner.
Is it free?
You can store and get reminders for up to 4 documents free. Paid yearly plans hold 18 or 50 documents and never renew automatically.
Does DocsPocket read my passport?
No. There is no document scanning, OCR or AI. You type the expiry date yourself, and your photos and document numbers are encrypted on your device before upload.
General guidance only. Entry and passport rules change — always confirm with the official government website of your destination and your passport office before you travel.
